Catching you up on the girls!

I just can't seem to keep up with this! There's been a bunch going on. Let's begin in August.

Cadyn is having a great time in Kindergarten. She thinks she is a teenager! Here is a picture from the first day of school.
She is in hip hop class with one of her best friends, Natalie. She is pretty uncoordinated, but so
fun to watch!

Cadyn got a surprise when we went to Orlando for my cousin Bridget's wedding...we took her to Universal Studios to the Harry Potter experience. Austin had many firsts on this trip as well--first plane ride, which she did fantastic, and her first carousel ride. She said "Whoa!" and wanted to ride "again...more, more."
The best river raft ride I've ever ridden was the Popeye ride. Here is Cadyn's face as we are hitting the first rapid:
Here are some pictures of our beautiful family at the wedding:
For Halloween, I convinced Chris to join us in a family costume as Alice in Wonderland.

Cadyn also went to her first real concert at the beginning of November with Natalie to see JUSTIN BEIBER!!
She fell asleep halfway through. Too funny!
Next comes Cadyn's 6th birthday...yes, she's 6 now! I can't believe it either! We had the party at Pump it Up again. This is the 3rd time...we love it there. We had friends and family join us to celebrate. It was a great time.

We had Thanksgiving with my parents and grandmother and on Thanksgiving day, we went to Aunt Sherry's and had yummy lunch. We then spent Black Friday at home smoking a chicken and making ribs. Fabian, Thomas and Kristie came over to hang with us and watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Today we went to the Chuy's Parade downtown for the first time and hung out with new friend Gloria and her daughter Sophie. After the parade and lunch, we went and visited Wendy and Bryan and new addition Harper! Cadyn and Austin loved it.
So we are now caught up for the most part. One last thing, Austin is talking so much now. She is a bossy pants. She tells us to "Sit." When I ask her to go get something, she says, "Mommy get it." She loves books and is learning colors and animals and the sounds they make. She knows monkey says "Eee Eee" (thanks to Aito and Aita), cow goes moo, puppy says "woof," kitty ("keety")says "meow,"duck says "cack" and this week she learned horse ("ho") says neigh. She loves the sky and talks about all the things that are in the sky. "Moon" and "Agua" (she calls the clouds this, which is technically right) and when the sun is in her eyes, she says, "Sun, hot." She loves the birds and planes and trees that she sees when she looks up. Oh my goodness, did I mention her shoe obsession?!?! She loves to wear shoes, get other people's shoes and put them on, and put on high heels of any kind! She thinks they are "pwiwee" (pretty). Oh, and when we put her shoes on, she always says "Ow." Well, let's see, she says "ow" to everything that touches her. Pepper steps on her foot accidentally, "Pepper, Ow." The book hits her hand, "Book, ow. No, no book." Too cute. And to go with the season, when she sees Santa, she now says, "Ho, Ho." She learned this from watching Elf. Merry Christmas all and I will leave you with some cute little videos.

Dancing Queens

Cadyn Working out to my So You Think You Can Dance workout video.
She has no clue I am filming her!

A Couple of Firsts

On July 21, Austin finally said "momma!" I was so excited!! It was actually directed to me too! All it took was a day with dad. Go figure. Then on that Friday, July 23, she got her first haircut. We cut all her little wispies off and her hair looks so cute and healthy now!

She says "buh" for book and "banca" for blankie. I also think she has tried to say "milk." She stopped her bottles completely on Sunday, July 25th and is down to one nap a day. OH MY GOSH!!! I now have a toddler, no longer a baby! I'm gonna go cry now: toddler and Kindergartner...I'm officially old! I love being a mother and I can't wait to update on the next firsts.

New found friendships

I met Sarah last year at school. She taught 4th grade bilingual and I was 2nd grade bilingual. We didn't really talk much last year for whatever reason. This year though, we became close. We share opinions, are honest, and can tell each other anything. She is an amazing individual and teacher. She really looks after her kiddos. She is the most real person I know. She is selfless and I love her random gifts and surprises she gets me because they come from the heart. I will miss her much next year at school. Actually, she is already missed! I love her Gluten-free heart!

Katie, Heather, and Darby were the other close friendships I made this year. I felt like I could
tell them anything at anytime. I feel like they are the kind of people that would also tell me the honest truth about anything I ask of them. Actually, I expect that and respect it! They are all
awesome teachers that I admire and look up to. Katie is an awesome person that always makes me smile. I can't imagine her being mad. She is so sweet and knows how to booty bump!
Heather doesn't have an unorganized bone in her body. She is the cleanest most organized person ever. Hopefully it will rub off on me next year. She makes me laugh and we can talk about boys (hers of course) for days. I will tell her the truth though! ;) Darby is fun, fun, fun.
Well, they all are, or they couldn't be my friends! :) She, along with all the other girls, is also selfless. She deserves the best! She is my belching partner and the other "Dirty D."

Well all I gotta say is thanks to these girls for being there for me this past year and listening to
all my problem and concerns and giving me the best advice. Love you girls!

Technology, AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!

So it's been a while since I have posted anything and the reason is TECHNOLOGY!! We have a laptop that has not been working and at this moment I am sitting on the floor in my room because we have a router that is not working. Do I have money for this? Of course not! I also had to burn CD's with pictures so I could delete pictures off my computer because they were taking up too much memory.

So we have done many things this summer including going to Port Aransas with Chris's parents and family and going to South Padre Island with my family. On the way home from Padre, we ate at one of my friends from high school's restaurants in Harlingen called La Playa. If you haven't been there, oh my goodness, it was yummy! I think he's opening one up in Georgetown in the next couple of weeks. Next trip is Chris going to Louisiana for his dad's 65th birthday where he will win enough money for me to spend in San Diego the first weekend in August for Rebecca's bachelorette party trip. We are gonna learn how to surf! I'm excited!

This summer Cadyn has learned to tie shoes and has been practicing how to spell and math facts. We practice problem solving skills all the time to get her more prepared for Kindergarten in August. She also went to cooking class the first week of July and learned how to make BBQ Chicken Enchiladas and some cookies and streusel with berry sauce. Then she got Strep Throat! Boo! At least it was before we went on our vacation.

Austin started walking at the beginning of June. She now wants to be down walking everywhere. If there are stairs, she is on them (that's how I get my exercise). She loves giving kisses and even says "muah" when she does it. Austin says a couple of words clearly: Pepper, Daddy, Bye Bye, and Cadyn. Yeah that's right...no "momma" yet. When we went to South Padre, the would say "Tata" for "Aita" and "Tato" for "Aito." You know my parents melted! They also loved her "Uh Oh" face. Cadyn takes care of her all the time and Austin loves her big sister just as much!! It is precious!

Well, for now that is it. I will post pictures up soon since I have to charge up my laptop now. Hope all is well and take care!

SpRiNg BrEaK 2010

So I vowed to not think about or do anything work related during my Spring Break and I kept my promise. It started off with Austin's Baptism on Saturday. It was after the 5pm mass and then we came back to our place to have people over for the celebration. It was a beautiful and special time with family and friends. Austin's Godparents are my brother, Michael and one of my best friends, Katherine.

On Monday, the whole family when to Zilker Park and walked around the lake. We took in the beautiful weather. It was perfect.

This is how Austin "chills" and people watches.

In the river...it was so cold! I couldn't believe people were swimming in it!
Tuesday was rainy so I decided to take the girls to Alamo Drafthouse for Baby Day and watch Alice in Wonderland. Thank goodness Sarah joined us because Austin decided that she was not gonna fall asleep, no matter how tired she was! It was a great movie though and we had fun!

On Wednesday, I did our taxes (YAY REFUND) and then we all dressed up in our green at home to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I made Cadyn green milk and Mommy and Daddy had their green beer!

Thursday was Mommy Day. Mimi and Pops (Thank You Thank You)took care of the girls while Chris was at work and Mommy got to play at SXSW with Reese squared, Sarah, Michael and Fabian. Michael started off by taking us to Urban Outfitters (we had fun rides in the Jeep...see my hoodie picture below) where we met up with Fabian and then headed to Cedar Street after watching a couple of bands. After Fabian so rudely left and got himself a bagel, we were expecting at least some free BBQ at Cedar Street, but there was none. So we called up CReese and told her to get us some nuggets!! And she did...spicy nuggets from Wendy's because they were the ones on the dollar menu. Needless to say, my wuss brother and I had mouths that were on fire. Michael was asking for milk! Too funny! We saw Minus the Bear, Uffie and Miike Snow there. Michael had to go to work after that so the rest of us went to Auditorium Shores to see Ozomatli. Fun times. Jenn, Jason and Court went home afterwards. I was about to head home with them until Sarah asked me, tauntingly, "So this is the SXSW experience you were telling me about? Leaving at 9pm?!?" I then responded with a look that might have resembled an "It's already been broughted" look and Fabian, Sarah and I headed to Austin Music Hall to try to see Stone Temple Pilots. We were standing in line and they told Fabian his camera couldn't get in so that meant that we weren't getting in...Wahoo's it was! After Wahoo's we headed to Elysium to see what it was going to be like for Crystal Method and Steve Aoki...not bad...$20 to get in. We did and danced for 3 hours straight. My ears are STILL ringing from that night. Then Fabian safely drove Sarah and I back to Reese's house after Dance Party USA.

The rest of the week was pretty chill. Friday, Austin had her 9 month check up (I can't believe she is 9 months already). She was all good! She is crawling all over the place. When she crawls, she doesn't necessarily crawl on all fours: she crawls with a foot and drags the other leg behind. Pretty funny if you ask me. When she's sitting, she likes to go around in circles. Pops says she is "screwing herself into the ground." She has started trying some solid foods. She still just kinda looks at it and wants you to feed her, but she is learning to chew/mash up her food. She still only has her two bottom teeth. I will try to put a video up soon!
